I think the NG900 throwout bearing has been plastic lined from the beginning.
It doesn't really help though since the whole design with its fulcrum points and ease of building up grime and goo everywhere will create enough drag and friction to make the clutch stiff.
It is other after market clutches out there that have a metal lining inside the throw out bearing. It's the same story with those too.
Your best chance of success is to clean all surfaces well and use silver grease on all points of contact.
I also inspect the clutch fork fingers that contact throwout bearing. If there are any wear marks or grooves from the old bearing, I use a file and reshape the fork to a smooth curved finish again to minimize friction.
