Convertible Rear Window Damage

I've been a lurker on Saabnet for several years, and learned agreat deal - this is a marvellous resource, and I've finally bitten the bullet and joined up. My wife and I own a house in Mariposa, CA, where we stable a 1995 900 SE V6 Convertible - it's been a great car for us. However, we live and work in Hong Kong for the bulk of the year (where we also own another Saab, a 1998 9-3 2.3L vert).
My problem is this. In the recent California cold snap, a water pipe in the roof of our garage burst, effectively downloading a considerable amout of ice onto the Mariposa Saab (see the picture at http://www.saabnet.com/tsn/members/gallery.html?memberID=537&do=show&id=7407). This effectively knocked out the back window of the car. I've accessed the Saabnet archives, but I'm still rather confused as to whether the window (which was apparently undamaged)can be refitted to the top (e.g. by using various glues), or whether a replacement top would be a better solution. The current top is in pretty good condition, so I would initially favour the refitting option... but I have read in the archives that some glues may not stand up to higher summer temperatures, and at best this may be a "bandaid" solution. Any advice would be much appreciated - including sources of new convertible tops if this is considered the best option.
Many thanks!
Bruce (temprarily from the Hong Kong side)
