I thought it might be the cables in back or the radio not having good ground contact. Periodically, my radio has significant interference in the AM band and when I press on the upper left corner of the radio face, the reception clears up. It will get worse over time when I drive over speed bumps. When it gets so bad that pressing in on the face doesn't have an effect, I slide the radio out and press the connections in the back to ensure they are well seated and then slide it back in. Doing so always improves the reception - I presume because the connection or ground is better. That's the basis for my recommendation. Good luck.
