Replaced exhaust intermediate pipe

I have been driving with a busted intermediate pipe (middle flex pipe) for several months and finally my Viggen sounds civilized again! In a way I didn't hate the ricy loudness too much but I prefer enjoying Viggen's force without letting everyone inside and outside know.
Learning exactly where the leak was coming from last week, I ordered the part (Starla) from eeuroparts for $119. As expected from their top notch service, the part arrived here in NYC within 48hr after I had ordered even on SATURDAY! Enough said.
Reading some posts here, there was an issue of Starla being a little shorter than the OEM and straining the rubber hangers. Also, I was wondering if I should use sealer b/w connections, and I was worried about breaking the rusted bolts on those clamps. After soaking the bolts with Liquid Wrench (PB blaster type of stuff) for half an hour or so, I loosened the bolts gently and slowly and they came out fine. With a hammer the joints came off easily. The Starla is in fact a little shorter (1/2" maybe) but it wasn't too big of an issue since the pipes had way more play to make up for that. Make sure to grab two sets of new clamps since they deform when tightened. The original connections didn't appear to have any sealant, so metal to metal seal must be enough. I simply cleaned the surfaces before joining the pipes. And make sure the clamp sits right on top of the bulging joint otherwise the seal won't be tight from the tapered design. Pretty simple job if you can get under the car.
