This bulletin board is an excellent place to start. Read Dean and Swedecar posts on everything ranging from ACC to water pumps. There is plenty of common sense diagnosis in their posts, as well as Saab-specific goodies that will help you learn your car inside and out.
The Haynes manual is a good reference point when researching and attempting to do repairs on your own. If you want a more in-depth look at your car, see if you can find a WIS (Workshop Information System) disc for PC (try eBay). It is basically the mechanic's library about the Saab, covering everything from manufacturing processes to subframe repair and complete teardown, piece by piece.
Third, don't be afraid to ask questions of the board. There are many knowledgeable voices here, and most are happy to help.
