Stalling Mystery

I have a 2000 9-3 5-spd turbo. Car runs fine no problems except when I turn it off and then try to re-start it within 20 minutes or so, it starts half the time, the other half it cranks strong but does not turn over. But if I wait until it cools down, it then starts fine, no problem. It is getting worse so that now it is stalling once in a while on the raod, again only after it has warmed up and i need to wait until it cools before re-starting.
Any ideas on what might be causing this? I took it to a garage and of course it worked prefectly there.
Thanks.
