I have a 2000 Viggen with about 81k miles, and I would say it is an excellent car. Interior and Exterior are both in excellent condition, and I would say $11,500 is probably about right for a price.

I have had mine for 1.5 years and 22,000 miles, and have done only oil changes, but I did get the SID (missing pixels) replaced under warranty for free.

The car is pretty solid. As for records to check, make sure he has changed the oil at no longer than 6-7k, ideally around 4-5k miles. Full synthetic is a must as well! Check to see he has done the 60k service (big one, serpentine belt, pulleys). Make sure the A/C works. Other important part is the rims, since they are stock (and soft!), see/ask if they are bent at all. This would be apparent on the highway, as the car would shake and shimmy. Brakes also would be a point of interest.

And of course, have a mechanic go over the car before purchase. Flex pipes on the muffler can go out here as well.

Besides that have fun! Phenomenal car. :)
