I installled most of the handling improvements on my 99 conv:
Eibach Pro shocks/springs
Urethane bushings
6 point subframe brace
MP steering rack brace
upgraded rear swaybar
17 inch tires.
Now I am reagreeting doing all of that. The car handles great, but I have sacrificed too much in ride quality.
This is just my opinion, but I think that the steering rack brace, swaybar and 6 point brace are all fantastic for the convertible....you make no sacrifice in ride and pickup some much needed rigidity.
I have read that the Konis and 16 inch tires (I went from 15 inch to 17 inch) are a really nice improvement and keep the ride a bit softer than the 17 inch wheels and Eibach setup that I have.
Also not sure where you live, but here in Northern NJ the potholes can kill 17 inch wheels real quickly.
Just my 2 cents.
