I have a 2003 9-3 SE with the Sports Package.
Great car, just like the viggen except the 2.0 vs 2.3 liter, master cylinder, rotors, calipers and a couple suspension parts.
2003 SE better than most Viggens as traction control came standard that year - which actually makes it quicker from a dead stop. Not to mention that the SE wheels (even the 17"s like mine) are not as soft and don't bend as easily.
(My step son has a 2000 Viggen so I have driven it quite a bit).
There is a good bit of cowl shake with the vert, you kinda get used to it.
Especially with the 17"s.
As far as winter driving, if you are serious about it you will pick up some skinny steel wheels and put a high end winter tire on all four corners. With 55's it will go nowhere in the snow. Go for a 75
All 2003's have a folding rear seat - but there is a pretty small bulkhead so other than skiis or a bass guitar or something, you won't get much else through it.
Go for it, it's a great car.
