Oil from crankcase vent line....fix?

I had asked this question a few weeks ago, and got the following reply from Jim Blake:
***********************************************************************
My 2001 9³ would occasionally smoke on startup & I think it was because of the crankcase vent. Take off the rubber duct from the air cleaner. It attaches to an aluminum elbow turning downwards into the compressor. On top of that elbow there's a steel line attached with a banjo fitting. That's a crankcase breather.
With that rubber duct removed, you can look inside the big elbow. Look for evidence of oil coming from that steel crankcase vent line. I think the oil separator would occasionally let some oil build up & pass thru the vent line. That's how it can burn oil without the turbocharger bearings actually leaking.
I'm not saying the turbo bearings can't be leaking on your car, but you can check out this possibility too.
**********************************************************************
I finally got around to checking, and there is in fact oil in the crankcase breather. As Jim said, it's not damaging anything, but the occasional blue smoke on start-up is annoying. Should I be bothered with trying to fix this? I've seen that Saab has offered numerous fixes, then reversed some, so it seems maybe there isn't a cure for this one.
