I don't entirely know what you are planning or want to do and what key and remote you have now, but you can buy what's called the 2001 and up key and have it programmed to your car.
That key have the power lock remote inside the key head.
You order the 01 and up key using the VIN of your car as long as the locks in your car are still original and then you find a Saab shop that have the Tech 2 scanner and have them program the key to your car.
It is lots and lots of information about the subject on this and the 9-5 board so do some searching.
