I took my 1997 900se into the shop for a 'sputtering' problem. Details can be found in a prior message in the attached link.

The mechanic identified a few other issues and I am wondering if folks think these costs are reasonable. I have reviewed the board and read the posts by Dean on possible alternatives to caliper issues and will also mention that to my mechanic.
Here are the estimated repairs and costs.
- check engine light showed the crank shaft position sensor not working- will cost $250 (parts 140)
- rear calipers shot, thus the rear brakes aren't working! (abotu $525- parts and labor)
- exhaust broken, or rather the bracket is broken but it is integrated into the mufflers/exhaust so you gotta replace the whole thing (about $700 ish dollars)
