Here's my experience with them, and like Bill's shop, I had to them twice, but I definitely learned some things. This is on a coupe, so the sedan may be slightly different.

There are two pieces of rubber trim that cover parts of the pillar tape. If you open the door, on the inside you'll see a plastic clip that holds part of the lower trim in. Squeeze it, push the trim out, and then you can lift it up and away from the base of the window enough to get good access to the tape. Lower the window all the way and you can pull the side and upper trim away. Once it's pulled out of the corner, it will just about fall out.

Use a heat gun or wait for a warm day to pull the tape off. Mine came off mostly in one piece, which was a pleasant surprise after the horror stories I had heard, but it did leave tons of adhesive residue. The tape is very thin, and will show any bits of adhesive that are left under it. I used 3M adhesive remover, which comes in a red metal can and can be bought from Griot's Garage. It made quick work of the old adhesive. It all came off with minor rubbing with a paper towel, but next time I'm using a glove. My fingertips hurt for several days after getting wet with that stuff.

To put the new tape on, line it up at the top and make sure it's straight. About a 1/4" will fold over each side and the bottom gets covered up by the window trim, so alignment everywhere but the top isn't critical. Peel a little of the adhesive off at the top, stick the top down, and then rub your hand back and forth across the full width of the tape, working your way down a half inch or so at a time, pulling the backing off as needed. It's easy to get bubbles under there and you'll destroy the tape trying to pull it off, so go slow.

There is nice shiny paint under the trim, but it shows fingerprints easily and all of my family's cars with painted B-pillars have gotten scratched up over the years. At least with the trim tape you can replace it all if it starts to look ratty.
