So here it goes
Has anybody else on this board experienced issue after issue with their saab 9-3? Well I have been one of the unlucky(few?)ones having to deal with these seemingly common issues. I also understand this board is a problem solving board but what gives? Since October when I purchased my 99' Saab 9-3 SE for $5000 I have done the following...
Replaced Turbo, O2 sensors, pulleys and belts, alternator, front struts, mounts, balljoints, tierod ends, radio, driver seat motor, DIC, exhaust, rear caliber, tranny mount, water pump, and a fuel pump. Now I've just been informed in needs new lifters, and rear end work.
Proir to purchase did a carfax report one onwer no accidents, and has my mechanic look at the car.(needless to say he is no longer my mech. anymore.
Having owned 3 saab 900T's proir (of the classic vintage) and a 92 9KT, as well as a 96 CSE, I am pretty dissapointed with my new saab. It feels cheap, and doesn't drive all that well in comparison to the 900's and 9K's i've owned. The 9'3s handeling is pretty tepid, rides rough but also leans in the corners, way to much. The interior feels cheap, the leather is no match for even my early 9K or my father's 2000 9-5. The dash is coprised of cheap plastic, and everything squeaks and rattles. These issues metioned above are not uncommon for the 9-3 as several of my freinds own this gen 9-3 various years, with similar issues. Just seems the me that these cars are the worst of the worst when is comes to saabs recent efforts. Not all is bad I dont wnat everyone to think that I dont enjoy my saab sometimes. Their are still alot of things I like about my saab such as the turbo, heated rear seat, key in the console, and the night panel. I love the rear hatch and the overall styke of my car, but I am dissapointed by its mnay noticable shortcomings, and constant repair bill.
