Background,
97 900SET 93K
1)I had low idle(500 RPM) and stalling. With the help of searches on this board, I diagnosed as dirty/stuck/broke/ IAC.
2)After removing and attempting to clean IAC, I decided that it was beyond repair and ordered new from eerouparts to the tune of $277
3)Installed new IAC.
Now my idle is incredibly erratic. When I start the car, it immediately jumps to 3-4000 RPMs stays there. Turing off and restarting several times in fairly quick succession will sometimes result in an idle that jumps between 1,200 and 2,000 RPM continuously, you know, like this vroom, vroom, vroom. Subsequent restart results in the scary high 3000-4000 range yet again.
Right now I am driving with the IAC disconnected so I can get back and forth t work. Like this the car operates as expected for this condition. Idle between 800-1500, depending on the accessories that that are running.
Any help would be much appreciated
Jack
