Well, at least your startin off cheaper than I am!! '95 900SE vert...$2500 from a fellow Saab enthusiast..and a freind.. thought it a pretty good deal,.. uh huh..:(

Good lookin body, good top, seemed to run out well. Previous owner had replaced the motor about 10K ago.. have a constant CEL, which I also figured to be a incompatible sensor hook-up, or "forgotten" connection...Air blew well, all the options worked but the pass. seat.
First thing i noticed (first night I drove it), no dash lights...well turns out to be "intermittent" problem...small loss..easy fix and I am mechanically/electrcally inclined...
Put the top down the next day.. ahhh fresh air and sunshine....put the top back up later, and the "check top latches" now shuts off once in a while.
Next, noticed the fan not pushing any cabin air.. checked all the options for repair, order a filter...( no way air would penetrate that crud!) while apart.. checked fan by hotwiring it.. works....left w/ the choice of the resistor pack ( small white plastic connection block, w/ a little blue (?) component between the contacts, or the ACC module.. (Need help on this one guys!!)
So put it all together again, and went to take it out for a spin....low and behold.. no power.. well seemed like no power.. lacked all acceleration, rpms never went above 2500.. was like it was mired in tar...this ain't happening!!! I had it out before I took it apart.. and ran just fine..:( Then I noticed the "check gear box" light....

So it sits... I feel my wallet getting lighter and lighter....:(

Thoughts.. ideas.... fixes??

Hope your luck is better than mine..
