The torque spec on old style bolts when reinstalling or installing new are 60Nm, 80Nm and then 90° angle torque.
If you use lbf-ft torque wrench you have to use a lower setting otherwise you will surely break them (44 and 59 lbf-ft).
The new style bolt from Saab have a lowered torque setting.
I haven't really seen much problems with premature head gasket failures on a 96 and older engine and since they have the older bolts and seemingly torqued to spec, I wouldn't worry to much.
