Before you put that oil pan back on you might want to reach up and see how much play the bearings have and cross you fingers that they are not that bad, loose bearings = low oil pressure = rod knock = rebuild. I just bought a 95 that collected a rod knock half way home after I had bought it and I am looking at the rebuild stage. But anyway, the rods shouldn't have more than about a 1/16 inch max play side to side from the way the crank sits. the crank bearings are a little harder to check. Virtually if the bearings have to much play the oil will just run out of them and not do its job of lubricateing and cushioning the bearings so they start to wear the metal then, bad motor. I remember your post and can't find it but I don't remember anyone saying that the this could be the cause. There are a bunch of things that could cause this, the bearings from wear, old oil, bad oil sender, tired oil pump, sludge, useing a regular oil then changeing to a full synthetic ( the synthetic oil molecules are smaller than conventional oil).
Best luck to you! Jason
