so in anticipation of my new shift knob and skirt, i popped the old broken one off. However, I failed to look at the orientation of the reverse lock piece before twisitng it off. Does the protruding bit at the bottom sit on top of the white reverse lockout plastic bit, at exactly 90 degrees to (the direction of the car) when in reverse?
i.e. if you were looking down on the shift knob while facing the front of the car, would that black bit be at exactly 3 o'clock?
FYI - popping it off was pretty easy. I used a pipe wrench to twist off the remaing white plastic knob - regular thread. The long black reverse tube came with it. A small flathead screw driver was all i needed to puch the three little tabs down and pop it off the reverse tube - no hacksaw, no dremel.
