just type "intake mod" and you will get some pretty thorough directions.
but I did mine a tad different... Go buy some High temp ATV silicone and a 3" exhaust pipe. Take out your air box and rip out the tube thats sticking out of it. Bore that out to the width of the pip... keep checking to make sure its not to big and where you need to cut more by putting the pipe up to it several times. Cut the exhaust pipe to your desired length. I cut it and put a slight angle in it so it would take air from the lower part of the fender area.
Stick the pipe in about 1" to the box so your able to get silicone around the pipe/box on the inside, Then put silicone sealer on the outside. My pipe fit very very snug so I just put to layers of High temp silicone. I wrapped it up in some heat shield ATV tape I had laying around and added a K&N, took me a little while plus it adds that personal feeling you get like you contributed something to the better living of your auto.
I also ended up wrapping all the intercooler hoses from the intake to the throttle with High temp Heat wrap and that too made a difference.......
Good luck and always remember, be patient and have fun!!!!! Kent
