I have had four c900's and a 94 NG900 and currently have a 00 9-3. All were the 2.0L turbos, all manual except for a 89 c900 auto turbo. I am 6-1 and the c900's had more headroom and a better luggage compartment with the back seat folded. The c900's had a rock solid front suspension and good steering feel even at 150k. Even though the engines were better with better economy and more powerAvoid the 1994-1997 models of ng900, the 1998 model was a good car with a hydraulic clutch. The 99-02 9-3 turbos are probably the best of the bunch and have the best economy, a better front suspension, more power (2.0 HOT) and much better reliability. But I must say that 6-2 or taller will have a headroom issue unless you lower the seat to the floor.
The Viggen is a neat car but the low hanging spoilers will drive you nuts, they scrape on everything. The best thing about the Viggen other than awesome power, is the seats. It is probably worth it for the seats alone. I was never able to find a good used one hence the 00 9-3 which I have been very happy with.
Whether you go with Viggen or later OG 9-3, you really must do two mods - a bigger rear swaybar and the steering rack clamp/brace. You will be happy if you can find the headroom.
The 03+ 9-3's just plain suck for tall people, the seats are tiny and the interior cheap looking and the hatch was gone.
