Barring fuel delivery issues (ie. bad fuel pump) any poor electrical connection could be the culprit.
Is the alternator charging properly? Battery ok?
You should see 13.5v to 14.5v with the motor running. But regardless, check the connections at the battery (pull the cables off, clean the terminals & coat w/grease...there is special stuff for this, but even motor oil will do), check for bad ground straps...there are probably at least x2. Lastly, verify the alternator is properly grounded to the eng. block...replace the wire if necessary or add another one.
If the battery light flickers at low RPMs & goes off at higher revs..the alternator voltage regulator brushes are probably worn down.
One more thought - inspect the wiring to the distributor or DI cassette (you didn't say what you're driving)...a bad connection here will create havoc. With the motor running, wiggle this connection to see if the motor stumbles or stalls.
Good luck.
