Since you post on this board I assume you have either a NG900 or an OG9-3 model and both of them have two charge ports for the A/C system, one on the low pressure line and one on the high pressure line.
R134a freon charge ports are the same standard all over US and probably around the world too.
Yes, some cars only have one charge port on either the low pressure line or high pressure line depending on model/year/brand. the standard size though of the port is the same.
So it sounds like the shops are not that interested at all to work on a Saab no matter what.
Just like I wouldn't be too interested to do A/C work on any domestic, Asian or other European cars except Saabs and Volvos.
