Hi I'm new here and I'm hoping to get some opinions. Just bought a 1999 Viggen with 115,000 miles with a check engine light because it did not have a catalytic converter installed (checked the code before buying). When I got home I had a cat put on and I changed the oil, replaced the spark plugs (BCPR7ES-11's) and reset the ecu. After that I still had a code for slow response from the front O2 sensor (P0133) so I replaced the front O2 sensor. Then I also started seeing P0300 (Random Misfire). Now the car started to have a lumpy idle too...

Currently the car is boosting to only 10-12 psi, the idle is lumpy, the throttle response from idle is delayed, and it is still throwing a front O2 sensor code.

So, here are the modifications that were done by the previous owner:

- Stage 1 ecu from Taliaferro before they vended Nordic. (BSR?)
- Upgraded intercooler
- SS delivery pipe
- Turbo inlet pipe
- Open air/cone filter intake
- 3" downpipe and 3" full exhaust
- Coolant lines to throttle assembly have been bypassed

Here is what I've done so far:

- Welded in a cat
- Replaced the DIC
- Replaced the front 02 sensor (still seeing an occasional P0133)
- Smelled gas in the FPR reference line, replaced that with a standard 3 bar. After replacing the FPR started seeing a delayed throttle response from idle.
- Replaced the thermostat and flushed the coolant. Car was running cold previously. New thermostat fixed that.
- Waiting for engine to cool as I'm writing this to retorque the head. A few of the bolts turned at 44 ft-lbs so the head does need to be re-torqued which should also help with the oil leaks.
- Checked all vacuum lines and zip-tied or replaced as needed

Does anyone have any thoughts? The car was owned by a kid before I bought it, and it doesn't look as if it's been cared for or maintained very well in the few years that he owned it.

Also, and this weird, two of the 4 injectors have been replaced with injectors that don't have the same connectors, so the original plugs were cut off (cylinders 2 and 4) and new connectors are barrell crimped in place(?).

My next guess is the mass air flow sensor? Or possibly the head gasket is gone? The Random Misfire code makes me concerned. Would this Stage 1 ECU possibly hide codes that I need to see? Is the car possibly in some kind of limp home mode without a CEL? Who would have been the tuner for this ECU before Genuinesaab was with Nordic?
