Installation report. Fairly easy. Snapped the old bolts off. The old bolts were rusted into the holes but a little blast from the air chisel broke them loose. Had to cut one bolt on each side with a air grinder. Dremel or hacksaw would do too. They were too long with just the heads snapped off to pull up and out with the minimal top side clearance. It wasn't necessary to jack up the car except to get my grinder under there with room to work. Note to other installers: the nuts are welded to the plates, lever the plates, not the nuts. Installation was a snap. Clean the bolt holes, bolt it up, all done.

Performance report: I went with the 19mm after reading a few reports here about snow performance with the heavier bars. I was also worried about the soft nature of the convertible and pushing it too hard. I think it was a good choice, as the 19mm gave me plenty of leveling. In fact, it flattened the rear so much that fast turns put pressure on teh front end and left the front bouncing too much. It wasn't a good feeling. I tweaked the Koni's a few times and ended up with 1/8 turn more on all corners than I had before. That cured the bounce. Handling is much improved. Ride is actually better with the new bar due to increased stability.

I may bolt up the stock bar too just to see what a little more bar would give me but I have a feeling it will be too harsh in the convertible. If not, I may run it with a Summer/Winter changeover. Report later.

Quite an upgrade for $60 including shipping.
