When is it time?

I have posted messages in the past about my 1997 Saab 900S. Bought it for $1500 when it had 140K on it and now has 181K. Not having owned a Saab in the past (love it btw) just wondering if it's time to sell/buy newer or just keep what I have. After reading a while back about the Saab that had 1 million miles on it, I wondered,.... nah never happen to me, but the price of upkeep has been pretty high. The normal things you expect to wear out are expensive really, muffler/tp ($200 myself), ignition switch ($180 myself), exhaust pipe ($520 mechanic put in), tranny/radiator flush, rad hoses, serpentine belt ($575 mechanic), three new things to consider now, tranny mount ($275 mechanic), A/C hose from compressor to condensor and system charge ($430 mechanic), it has a number of seals that are seeping (mechanic), needs a range switch ($500 myself) and lastly the car is due for major service ($575 mechanic). The body is in fair condition has a couple of bubbles but not unfixable. Around $4,000 (including back brakes (myself) that I have spent or will have to spend in near future, not counting the motor seals. When is enough, enough? C/V joints will be coming up in the near future also, a maintenance mechanic by trade and I have the capability of doing most of this stuff and have, but with tools at work and no garage at home, hard to do most of the big stuff.
So, that's it in a nutshell, sorry so long but wanted to give the reader and idea of what's happening. Any thoughts? Keep it and absorb the price of repairs, buy newer, help?
