Convertible Top Motor - Funny Noises

OK, I'm getting ready to sell my 1997 Convertible, and I have just developed a noise that sounds like it's coming from the Convertible top motor. The top goes up & down fine --- no problems so far. However, I noticed the last time I put the top up and latched it, I kept hearing a cycling sound coming from the trunk area. It's fairly quiet, but you can hear it. Sounds like something is rotating (or trying to) back there once the car is started. As long as the car is running, it seems to keep up.
I looked for the fuse in the fusebox. I was going to pull it & put it back in, hoping it might reset something, but I couldn't identify the one for the top. Don't know what this sound is, but it could affect my ability to sell. At 154k miles, I'm afraid it's starting to become a money pit. Any help out there?
By the way, my 2000 9-5 has proven to be much more reliable.
