Just wanted to give others my impression of MP Performances Turbo Bypass Valve. I came across MP Performance on Ebay and couldn't pass up the opportunity to buy the BPV for the Buy-It-Now price they were asking -- nearly a 50% saving than similiar billet piston driven valves.

I don't know if this is the case with other billet piston type valve, but I was a bit surprised by the size of the thing, in comparison to the OEM. It is a bit bigger. But a beaut in polished aluminum. All nipple have substantial raised end for slip-proof connection.

Attachment was fairly easy with one minor exception. You get the impression that the intake-side nipple might be to large for the connection on the intake pipe and will rip it. It will not and life was made much easier by applying a bit of liquid soap to the tip of the nipple. Remove the retaining clip and have it rest on the BPV nipple instead of the intake pipe opening. Don't push the nipple straight in. I angled the BPV until I was able to get it fully surrounded by the intake pipe opening. Once this happens, keep pushing gently and soon enough you will have a positive fit. Order of install: 1. attach nipple to air bypass hose. 2. attach nipple to intake pipe. 3. attach vacuum hose. 4. attach all clip and electrical connections.

I was under the impression that my BPV was busted. It must have been or this a superior item. Trottle response in 1st is now as I wanted. Shifts are much smoother and turbo performance clearly better. E.g. On a highway test I found it was unnecessary to downshift from 5 to 4 to accelerate. And yes the car now has pep!!
