Sorry, I still have the same problem too. 1994 V6 will not start when hot 80-100 degree weather (hot days). Seems to me this appears to be a common problem for many SAAB owners, I wish I could help and have an answer but I do not.
I can tell you what it is not; My SAAB has had new timing belt, new Idlers, new plugs, new valve cover gaskets, new manifold gasket, new Mass-air flow sensor, new thermostat, new fuel pump, new fuel filter and numerous costly trips to the shop all over about a 2 year period and the problem remain the same.
About $4000 + later I still can not Start the car on HOT days, in the morning the car starts fine (cold) but later in the day it has the HOT staring problem, many times causing long delays and becoming stranded.
Personally, I am throwing in the towel…I have learned my lesson!
My remedy in to buy a new car, “any car” and make Damd sure it is not a SAAB!
And tell you friends to stay away from SAAB’s…
