The SID 1 is a very basic unit installed in some other countries that doesn't want a lot of gadgets.
It only contains an analog clock, a outside temp gauge and light sensor cell.
I think I have read here of people swapping in a 3 instead of a 2 and it worked. Haven't tried it myself though.
You have to have it programmed though if you get a used one, especially conv/non conv, and also the basic programming if you get a new one.
