2000 9-3 se HOT 2.0l 71,500miles
My mechanic is scratching his head !! Two weeks ago my car started chugging as I got off the freeway.Took it in and found #1 plug bent closed and some porcelan gone.New plugs,checked cat,new MAF= $650 later and car runs great. 250 mile road trip and 2weeks later driving to work
car starts chugging and ticking.Back to shop....#1 plug bent closed.He wants to pull the head to see what's up=$400. I'm no wrench but would checking oil for metal be a better $$$ first step?He said he cannot see entire top of piston with borescope.Is clearance to piston top that close
or is bearing cap loose? Opinions appreciated
