Ok still have the problem so I'm gonna repost. 00 9-3 SE Hot 101k...under moderate acceleration my car has a high pitched whistle...at slow acceleration it doesnt happen. It seems to be only within a certain acceleration band ie under hard acceleration it will whistle then stop as I'm accelarting and then stop while I'm still accelerating. Someone at onepoint sugested a defective oil filter but changed that and it still occurs. I do have a slightly weeping water pump but I'm hesitant to swap that out unless I'm sure its the culprit. Anybody have any suggestions or experience with the problem? Oil pump? Alternator? Boost is normal and I know its not the same noise as the hooter valve would make. Suggestions appreciated!
