You can probably get the knobs for the climate control at a local junkyard. If not, you can order them through one of the online parts places, such as eeuroparts.com. The a/c issue could be many things. With the engine idling and the blower turned on, do you hear a loud click from under the hood when you press the a/c (snowflake) button. If not, the compressor is not coming on for some reason. After 11 years, many, if not most automotive a/c systems have developed at least one leak. One of the most common leaks in our cars is the high-pressure hose that runs from the a/c compressor to the condensor (in front of the radiator). It tends to develop a leak where the flexible rubber portion of the hose joins the rigid metal portion. Another common failure in the heating system is the "toilet-paper holder". That's our term for the plastic control rod that connects the temperature control knob on the dash to the door inside the heater & a/c system to adjust the temperature. When this breaks, the knob will turn with little or no resistance and the air temp. out the vents will be stuck at whatever setting it was last in.
When you turn the radio on, what do you see on the display? If it prompts for a code, or if you see four "-" symbols, you'll need to re-enter the four digit security code, which was supplied to the original owner in with the owners manual. Post back if you have the four "-" symbols, as I think you need to pull the radio fuse for a while to reset the security system in the radio. If you don't have the code, your local Saab dealer should be able to get it for you. They may need to pull the radio (very easy to do), and get the s/n off the radio to look up the code. If you pull the radio yourself, you might get the code for free from the people at the parts/service counter.
