the older style key with the remote in the fob has an okay range but the one key I have that's the "new" kind with the buttons in the key head only works close up - even with a new battery - it's annoying because I have to slow down my walking pace to allow the car time to open as I'm almost in the car by the time the key remote works - I suspect that there is an issue with the aerial for the unlocking reciever - it seems to be on the left side of the car because if i sneak up on the right side with the weaker but stylishly compact "new" key it won't open at all sometimes.
My local saab mechanic thinks it's normal and sometimes -on the left side - you can unlock the car from 2 metres away - particularly when a saab tech is nearby - I wonder if the reciever for the unlocking device is impaired somehow - I wonder where it is......
