More information might help but lets look at the basics.
If you didn't undo the brake hoses from the calipers it's unlikely that you have air in the system. If you had air you would get a mushy pedal and probably a BRAKE warning lamp and the dreaded "!" lamp.
Did you clean and lube all of the caliper sliding surfaces and pad sliding surface? If the calipers can't freely move and the pads cant slide in the mounts. What about the caliper slide pins are they clean free of rust and lubed? Although it can be done without undoing the hoses I always take the calipers off the car and take them apart. using a whire wheel or brush and an old flat screwdriver clean all of the sliding surfaces. make sure you've compressed the piston fully back into it's cylinder. carefully clean the slide pins. inspect all of the rubber seals and replace if worn. Then apply Never Seize to all sliding surfaces and re assemble. I also find it usefull to buff the paint off of the sliding surface on the new pads. Since you've gone this far you might as well change the brake fluid and bleed all 4 calipers starting whith the one nearest the master cyl and working out to the furthest.
