99 900 = 9-3..... Posted by Mike Lynch [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: 900 questions for 1st time buyer, Paul Roberts, Fri, 12 Oct 2007 08:44:03 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
94-98 were 900's, NG900's, New Generation 900's as opposed to the Classic 900, C900 from 79-93 for sedans. In 1999 the name changed to 9-3 for both the sedans and the verts and the cars acquired side airbags and some minor restyling of the tail lights and lower facias. These are OG9-3's, Old Generation 9-3's as in 2003 the 9-3's were all new and referred to as the 9-3SS or 9-3 Sport Sedan.
So the 1999 you're looking at is a 9-3, the most current of the crop. Now you wanna' know if it's an SE with the nicer stereo, wood, dual power seats and increased horsepower on some.
Any NG900/OG9-3 as they are lumped together has a bulletproof Aisin Warner 4-speed auto with a sport mode that's actually tolerable, maybe even enjoyable by even the die hard stick folks.
BTW, coming from a 9000, why not a 9-5? It's the natural successor.
