The head bolts on a Saab V6 is tighten to "hell and back" and then 90° so it sounds right that you have broken several tools by now.
After the second 90° going on the third, your spine starts popping, elbow hurting and the bolt is screaming going in.
I have to use high quality socket with a 3/8 to 1/2 adapter and use 1/2 extension and ratchet.
Seem to remember that it is not enough room to use a 1/2 T55 socket.
