Just writing to thank the many people that detailed low-boost troubleshooting here on the board. I have a 2000 9-3 that was having boost issues - it would usually only boost to the lower half of the yellow, but occasionally it'd get all the way up, which made driving at the edge interesting (I never knew if I'd have enough power to pull the car out of the corner in the right way).
I read through a bunch of old posts and decided to use compressed air to clean out the BPC, and alcohol & Q-tips to clean off the resistors in the MAF sensor. I spent a good deal of time on the MAF, making sure to get each resistor completely clean, and now... I have FULL BOOST! In every gear!
The only hurdle was finding the BPC :-). For anyone that finds this thread, it's just above and to the passenger side of the turbo heat shield.
