Thanks for help. I wrote in first post that I verified A/C drain was draining. Apparently not draining quickly enough.
With the cowl off to replace the cabin air filter ('96 900 SE), I gently sprayed some water down the passenger side just behind where the rear wheel is and right under where the cowl would cover.
Water drained. Then I sprayed gently all along the passenger side under the cowl. No water on the floorboard.
Then I gently sprayed into the fan. The flaps were down on each side with the ignition off. Water coming down through the fan drains through the A/C drain, correct? Because now I had water on the floorboard after spraying down through the fan. And it wasn't a torrent of water either.
My garage floor slopes and not a good idea to get under the car to clear the drain so off the the shop. Probably put off until it rains. :-)
