Couple of weeks ago we ran the car through the car wash with the antenna up. Ordered a new mast from eEuroparts and went to install it. Installed one a few years ago and it worked fine feeding from the top. Not this time. Tried several times to get it to go through, went into the trunk and pulled the antenna motor out, etc. Worked on that for a couple of hours trying various things and still could not get the mast to go all the way in. Eventually tried to insert the cord into the motor manually with the visegrips (as illustrated via another post here) and bent the cord. So now I have another new antenna mast and am trying again. Again the mast is not going in all the way. The silver sleeve for the mast seems to "bottom" out inside the aluminum tube and sticks out about an inch above where it should. Any thoughts on why it is sticking? I've tried lubricant, I've peered down into the tube -- nothing seems to be there. Is the sleeve necessary? Thank you.
