Wife's 99 9-3 broke down last Friday. Had the car towed to the local Saab dealer. Ign Module was bad. Dealer replaced module. Head was leaking coolant extrernally. Tech did the cyl head re-torque per Saab bulletin. Picked car up and ran fine. The next morning she heard a noise. Sounded like a lifter "tick". I told her to go back to the dealer. Tech said it sounds like a sticky lifter... genious? Told her it should be fine. Last night wife was driving home and the oil light came on a few blocks from home. She shut the car off in the garage. I started it and the light did not come on but the "tick" was still there. I let it sit over night to cool. Started it this morning and no noise occcured until the engine oil warmed up... then the ticking came back, but no light on. Hop online... find out about a bulletin SAAB issued regarding MAJOR problems in a few threads here and there. Apparently there is a service bulletin and there is a very common problem with sludge buildup. Not really "thrilled to death" at the moment. The noise was never there prior to the tech working on it. Anyone know a good place to find and print out a copy of this bulletin that refers to cleaning the pan and changing the pickup screen???
Thanks!!!
Craig
