Rear disc brake rattle

Hi,
I am working on my 97 900S which has a pretty annoying rattle coming from the rear. I initially was leaning towards the muffler heat shield, but noticed that if I lightly tapped on the brakes, the rattle would disappear. Once I let off the brakes, the rattle comes back. It is particularly bad on older roads that have more bumps on them. Earlier today I took off the rear wheel to check out the brakes on the passenger side (where it sounds like the rattle comes from) and noticed that the pads move around pretty easily inside the calipers and made a metal clinking noise like the rattle. My first thought was to replace the anti-rattle spring on the top of the pads (which was so rusted it was nearly crumbling off). This did not do the trick unfortunately.
To make sure I wasn't missing something, I did take off the driver's side wheel and noticed significantly less movement in the pads on that side. Is there an adjustment I can make or shims or some other thing I can add to the passenger side to get this to go away? Thanks in advance.
Chris
