I did it several a couple years ago to relieve a weeping head gasket...those engines are prone to sludge but frequent oil changes ie every 5k with full synthetic should be enuf to prevent sludging. That being said it depends on the history of your car - got any weeps or seeps around the head gasket then get it done. If not then I dont think its critical but if you dont mind the cost it wouldnt hurt as a preventitive measure. Keep in mind that with your year/miles most of the vac lines are prob getting pretty old and brittle and doing the PVC mod (and a few other lines) would kill two birds with one stone so to speak
