Hi,
I have a 95 900SE conv w a 2.0L turbo, 120K mi. Lost coolant abruptly on the highway (there was a pre-existing slow leak that started a couple of days earlier and I was topping up so I had cleared the warning) and the main warning came on, temp guage shot thru the roof.
The engine stunbled badly coming off the hwy. When I got the heater core replaced, she started up fine but within 5 min there was white smoke billowing out the exhaust and coolant dripping past out the exhaust bolt near cyl 1.
I pulled the plugs and cyl 2 & 3 were flooded !!
I will be pulling the head, but I wanted to get some feedback - the exhaust gasket thing throws me for a loop. I would have said blown head gasket but can that cause this leak ? Or is this a cracked head/block for sure ?
I checked the dipstick and the oil looks good - this was before the second power up and flooded cylinders ...
I'm kicking myself, this is a beautiful engine and if not for the crazy work schedule I have now, I would have been all over it the first day. Please help !
thanks,
Nand
