In my opinion, vehicle-mounted cell phone antennas are worthless these days. Back in the early days of analog cell phones, the vehicles had diversity transmit/receive antennas - an antenna on the front and another antenna on the rear of the vehicle. That was the in the days of 3-watt radios. Then came .6-watt handheld cell phones, and today CDMA/GSM digital cell phones have way less power. The loss through a cable from the phone to the antenna is far more than the gain of the antenna. Save your money and don't drill any holes in your car. Check your cell phone manual; the manufacturer doesn't even list the output power for many phones because the power is so low... Ron
