Front Suspension/Brake Pop

Hello all,
I have a new-to-me 2002 9-3SE with premium package. The car has 88k miles and has not had any front suspension parts replaced. It suffers from a pop on braking.
It reminds me of a lower ball joint on its way out. The pop noise can heard when first touching the brake pedal durring a stop. If I pump the brake several times it will make a pop at the beginning of each pump. There is no pop noise when the car is parked. There are no pops while turning the steering wheel while driving. The only other thing I noticed is if the car is in park and I turn the wheel all the way to the left side and then I engage reverse, it will pop.
Basically, I am thinking tie-rod end or ball joint. No matter what this noise is defintely coming from the passenger side front wheel well. I do not think it is a tranny mount at all, I have experienced that before in a 99 9-3 and this is not like it. What do you guys think?
Thanks a lot!
R.T.
