Ouch! My experience with insurance adjusters is that depends on how much it will cost to fix vs. the current depreciation-adjusted valuation of the car. If the cost of fixing is greater than x% current-valuation of the car, then they will write it off. Depending upon whose fault it was, I would hope they would write it off, pay you out and then you could buy it back from the insurance company at a significant discount. Then contact goldwingsaab wreckers, get another passenger door and take everything to a reputable autobody shop (ask the saab dealer who they use) and have it fixed. Also depends if you want to drive a car that was involved in an accident.
Since airbags are expensive; so too is a new door I'll bet they write it off.... curious to see how it turns out. Depends too if the unibody is bent under the floor and can be fixed. I'd check wheel alignment too.
