The water pump is on the passenger side of the engine. It may be going bad or the washers that seal the hoses may also be going bad. The thermostat is close to the expansion tank on the drivers side of the car. It could also be leaking at the head gasket. The drivers side of the engine is known to leak and a retorque on the head bolts sometimes resove that problem. You should try to get a copy of the Saab Workshop Information System (WIS) online, or a copy of the Haynes manual for your car, or check out Dmitry's site: http://photo.platonoff.com/Auto/. Do a board search for "water pump" or "thermostat" since there's lots of information here. But, I would recommend not using any type of cooling system sealant until you determine exactly where the leaks are.
