As posted below, this issue is SOLVED. Not by replacing the ENTIRE transmission (as told to me by Accent Auto Group in NH), but by simply replacing the clutch (as diagnosed here and installed/verified by 128 Saab).

I'd like to also point out that in my efforts to avoid an expensive repair bill (Accent was only willing to talk about a $3300 re-man transmission), I did hours of research both here on this BBS and all over the web, all pointing to the same problem. While I've had issues with the Saab dealers all over in MA, I DO like how 128 approached the problem.

1 - They NEVER said the knew what it was until post diagnosis. Accent suggested that it could be transmission problem before the car went on the lift.
2 - We were clear it would be a minimum of $1000 to even start fixing this. At Accent, I was presented with a $3300 option and nothing else.
3 - They understood that no one wants to chuck $3300 at a five year old car. The rep at 128 assured me that they have NEVER replaced a transmission in an 02 93 (and that they see few transmission problems in general).

I think my experience at Accent with regard to this and an air cleaner assembly (where one thing was said and the work wasn't done) and additionally how every visit mysteriously cost $400 has ended my relationship with them.

I'd suggest anyone looking into Saab in the NH area to think twice about Accent and the quality of work they provide. I know I won't be giving them any of my money anymore and I'll be telling anyone willing to listen about this story.
