The guy is a Saab expert. He specializes in just Saab. I've been going to him for over ten years. He told me the engine was toast and not worth fixing. That something was hanging up. I, myself, and him took off the serpentine belt and it still squealed. He told me which I believed already it was coming from the engine. I had never had any engine problems and serviced it reg. I was not overheating or high revs when it stalled. When I asked him what the problem was exactly he said could'nt tell me for sure without opening the engine up. If he had to take a geuss it was that the balance chain sprocket prob shredded. I did not know what the balance chain was. Maybe his guess was it shredded or the chain broke causing the damage now. I trust when he said the engine was toast, just figured he meant cause the chain cost too much labor to fix. The blogs and yourself said otherwise. He may have meant the chain broke or something causeing the engine to go. Just Im selling it tommorrow for $1100 as parts to someone and didnt want to make a mistake. I was thinking by reading the blogs I could change it myself one day and avoid the costly labor. Apparently the mechanic meant it could of been the reason the engines damage. thank you for all your help.
